Because of the abject poverty and high unemployment rates, a large part of the population chooses to work in India or in the Arab world. There, Nepalese workers are often treated like slaves. When they return home after many years, they are destroyed inside.

What characterizes the Nepalese is their low self-confidence and the caste system that is anchored in society. The individual is powerless against this system. In addition, the corrupt administrative and economic system does not leave any chance for poorer people to live a life of self-confidence.

The consequences of the devastating earthquake of 2015 can still be felt today. It not only brought death and the complete destruction of many villages, but also blocked people's access to fresh water sources due to masses of rubble. The drinking water, especially in the shallow south bordering India, has since been poisoned by heavy metals.
