Djibouti

Djibouti, a small spot on the Bab al-Mandab strait at the southern end of the Red Sea, is dominated by Muslims. A dwarf in terms of area, in the shadow of its larger neighbor Ethiopia and the notorious riparian Somalia, the country is hardly worth mentioning economically or in terms of tourism. As a transit country, however, the mini-state is gaining in importance: for goods to and from landlocked Ethiopia - and for people.
