Healing, Freedom, Resurrection

During a large event in India, Pastor Yeshe* received word that a woman had died early that morning. Her daughter was a Christian; the rest of the family did not believe in Jesus but asked for prayer anyway. The team prayed briefly, though they hardly dared to hope. In the afternoon, relatives brought the body to the event and laid it in front of the podium—in front of about 15,000 people. The preacher praised God and said, "She is alive." Those present loosened the cloths wrapped around the body. But at first, nothing changed. Toward evening, the family took the deceased woman back home. The next day, Yeshe received the news: the woman was alive again.

Nighttime Rest for the Yaks

In a mountain village, simple yak herders lived. Night after night, stones flew out of nowhere against the walls of the stables, causing the animals to break out in fear. Neither Buddhist monks nor a shaman drumming through the night could help. Finally, Christians from Yeshe's network spent the night in the yak stable. From that point on, the nightly attacks stopped. The villagers were deeply impressed by God's power, and many came to faith in Jesus.

Finally Sleeping Again

In a mountain village lived a man plagued by demons. He would repeatedly manifest and become so violent that several strong men were needed to hold him down.

One day he could no longer sleep. Shamans and Buddhist monks tried various rituals to help him—in vain. After a week without sleep, someone in the village remembered the Christians. About 200 villagers then accompanied him to a pastor and two other Christians from Yeshe's network. They wanted to see whether the God of the Christians was really more powerful.

The three Christians prayed first. Then, not knowing how else to proceed, they began praising Jesus with singing and a Tibetan guitar. They sang for about three hours. Suddenly the man lost his supernatural strength. He became calm, weak, and tired. The Christians sent him home so he could sleep. For the first time in a week, he slept again—for many hours straight. The villagers were deeply moved. They had witnessed that neither their gods nor the shamans' rituals could help, but Jesus could. As a result, almost everyone in the village came to faith in Jesus.
