When the sirens won't stop

MIDDLE EAST
Thursday, March 13, 2026, at exactly 10 a.m., the sirens for the civil defense drill could be heard at our headquarters in Nidda. Cell phones were ringing everywhere. But with a single click, they went silent. These civil defense signals, which for us were just a brief interruption to our routine, are currently a painful daily reality for many people in the Middle East.

A day later, a partner from one of the affected countries* contacted us: “As I write these lines, the sirens are wailing in the background again. Here in the Middle East, we are in the midst of war, fear, and displacement.” He goes on to say that food, clothing, and daily necessities are urgently needed. Thankfully, we are currently able to send aid packages to many people. At the same time, with every distribution, we see just how great the need is. The number of people in need exceeds the available resources.

A food package for one family costs about 25 euros. Our goal is to support an additional 100 families over the next ten weeks. This will require 2,500 euros per week, for a total of 25,000 euros.

Our help reaches not only the families of our church members but also people who do not yet know Jesus Christ. This follows the biblical principle of sowing and reaping: Where seeds are sown generously, God grants growth and a good, spiritual harvest. Become part of this work!
