Ensure survival. Assist the persecuted.
Earthquakes, violence, hunger - there seems to be no end to the negative headlines. Afghanistan is going through one of its most difficult periods in the country's history. Daily survival is a challenge for many: according to UNICEF, more than half of the population is dependent on humanitarian aid from relief organisations. 3 million children are at risk of malnutrition.
The situation is particularly dangerous for "dissidents", such as Christians. They are not allowed to live out their faith in Jesus openly under any circumstances. "For us in Europe it is unimaginable - but these Christians must continue to visit the mosque in order not to attract attention. Anything else would mean an immediate death sentence," our partners explain.
