Country of contrasts
The Philippines with its 7107 islands is the fifth biggest insular state in the world.
Even though the Philippines belong to the economically improving countries, they are nevertheless one of the poorest states in South East Asia. There is a great contrast between the small rich upper class and the vast poor majority. In Manila for example there is the clean and safe skyscraper town of Makati with many multinational companies. On the other hand there are innumerable slums without water and electricity supplies, where thousands have to live from the rubbish of the city.
»Street children«
Children who have been abandoned, left or orphaned roam the streets of Baguio City.
They are organized in gangs and cliques. They beg or steal for their survival and are characterized by alcohol and drug consumption.
Our small social centre in the city centre is a place for them to go. People there look after food, clothes and necessary medical treatment.
Many contacts are being made and often there are good opportunities to share the Good News about Jesus. Through this we pave the way for street children into the local church where they find a spiritual home and sometimes even an adoptive family.

Slums characterize the picture of Tondo – the poorest part of Manila.
The „Smokey Mountain“ is one of the oldest dumps in the city. This is the location of our day centre for undernourished children. We look after this project in cooperation with “Youth with a mission”. We care for sick and severely undernourished children aged 0 – 4. We wash them, clothe them and give them medical treatment. Without this help most of the children would not be able to survive.
Church planting
We support the training of pastors in the barely accessible mountain regions in the north. We also help with social and evangelistic events and support church planting projects.
Medical help
Our teams of doctors and nurses treat people who could otherwise not afford it. We work in the slums of Manila as well as in the hardly accessible mountain regions of the Cordilera of Northern Luzon. We show people the love of God by providing general and dental treatment and medication combined with the gospel.
